Your factory air-box has a lot of short comings. Air flow is restricted not only by a flat filter, but also by a series of poorly engineered bends and narrow tubing consistently leading to failure to properly power your turbo and engine.
Choosing a great Cold Air Intake (CAI) is actually quite simple; a good system will include a new air-box, intake tube, and air filter.
