Do you have a loose feeling in the steering wheel of your SuperDuty, or maybe even a clunk when you hit small bumps in the road? Have you checked out the tie rods on your draglink (bar that connects your pitman arm to the passenger side steering knuckle) for excessive play? More times than not, this is the cause.
The factory draglink on the 2005+ trucks is a known weak link in the steering system. There are a few causes for the weakness, but the majority lies within the design of the split collar adjusting sleeve. This allows the rod to flex when put under a load caused by road variations or steering input. Larger than stock tires and lift kits add even more stress to this part. Upgrading to this single piece unit will eliminate ALL flex and tighten up the feel of your steering wheel. This is an upgrade that you can notice a night and day difference in the second you open the box and lay the two side by side. PMF uses a heavy wall, single piece DOM tube and CNC single point thread the bar for the strongest possible threads. You won't find any welded-in tube adapters on this bar, so no concern of a weld failing, resulting in a loss of control of your vehicle.
INCLUDED TIE ROD OPTIONS:
This draglink will include an upper tie rod to connect to the pitman arm, but its available in two variations:
- Direct Replacement: This version includes an XRF Platinum Series tie rod that is of similar design to the original factory tie rod.
- Offroad Version: This uses a much stronger and MUCH more durable 1" FK heim. PMF custom machines these from high strength 17-4 stainless steel to fit the OEM taper of the pitman arm with a built in safety washer on the opposite side. Also included is a custom High Strength Grade 9 bolt for even more security. Because this uses a heim and not all states allow a heim to be used in your steering system, this option is listed as an offroad only item. If you live in a state that allows heims to be used, the offroad version is PMF's recommended option. One thing to note, the heim's slightly larger diameter may create clearance problems with some aftermarket drop track bar brackets when turning all the way to steering stop.
OPTIONAL PASSENGER SIDE LOWER TIE ROD:
The draglink does not include the passenger side lower tie rod that connects to the steering knuckle because you can transfer your existing tie rod to the new draglink. However, if your tie rod is worn, we'd recommend adding the optional XRF Platinum HD tie rod so you have a completely new draglink.
OPTIONAL STEERING STABILIZER MOUNTING CLAMP:
The factory steering stabilizer mounts to the factory draglink via a hole in your draglink that this bar does not include as it would be impossible to align the hole since the entire bar spins to be adjusted for length. Because of this, in order to utilize a steering stabilizer, you have a couple of options to consider. First, if you're running an aftermarket dual steering stabilizer kit that does not utilize this mounting provision, you have nothing to worry about. Otherwise, you can reconnect your existing stabilizer by adding the optional FOX Universal Mounting Clamp that has a 1.5" inside diameter and clamps into place anywhere on the bar, sandwiching it in place.

- Will not fit trucks with 8.5" or more of front end suspension lift.
- Will not fit "Widetrack" Dana Super 60 Front Axles found on the F-450 and F-550 trucks, and some Dual Rear Wheel (DRW) F-350's when equipped.
