Description
Since diesel trucks had the capability to being "tuned," it has by far been the most popular upgrade in terms of performance adders. But why? Previous to on-board ECM's, in order to achieve additional performance, it meant tearing apart different parts of the engine and making mechanical adjustments.

This all changed, and continues to evolve, as vehicle's ECM's become more advanced nearly on a daily basis. Gone are the days of using a screwdriver to adjust your timing, you just push a button while you're driving to work drinking your Starbucks. Such tuners come in numerous formats, anything from a simple plug in module that mounts under the hood, to programmers that plug into the OBDII port under the dash featuring a touch screen monitor with back up camera capabilities that can nearly drive your truck for you. But which one is right for you? That all depends on how you are using your truck and what your goals are.

Now, if you're trying to determine which tuner is right for you and your EcoDiesel, we understand there are a lot of options. First, many are simply looking for increased throttle response, and for this, its hard to beat BD's Throttle Sensitivity Booster with on-the-fly adjustability. But if you want more power, the Banks Derringer has proven itself a real contender, especially coupled with the iDash that gives you a load of information in a very simple to use and easy to see gauge layout. Or, maybe you just want some gauges to keep an eye on your powertrain, then the Edge Insight CTS3 is what you need to check out.
