The Super Duty Commuter 2.0 system is designed for people seeking the best on-road ride quality that don't plan to off-road their vehicle. Utilizing Carli SPEC 2.0″ Diameter, Internal Reservoir shocks, Carli developed a tune that delivers all-around comfort and ride quality designed for on-road, in town, highway, and towing/hauling.

The mono-tube, internal reservoir, Carli SPEC 2.0 boasts 6063 Aluminum construction, anodized body for corrosion resistance, 5/8″ hardened steel chrome plated shaft, full serviceability & rebuildability and are built with 1-peice bushings in the 6061 billet rod-ends. These shocks are spec’d with a premium 5WT oil to balance lubricity, consistent damping and the widest available range in temperature variation. Carli backs these with a 1-year warranty, serviced by Carli. Unlike most of our suspension systems, the Commuter was tuned with 20”, factory wheels on factory Michelin tires given many in the entry level, 3.5” lift market want the most bang for their buck and will continue to run the factory wheels and tires.

The truck will sit 3.5" higher in the front and have more wheel travel thanks to the lighter rate Carli Coil Springs. The Adjustable Track Bar centers the front axle and Stainless Brake Lines firm up braking and ensure there is enough line for the newfound travel. To round off the front end, you'll also receive Caster Shims to tighten the steering and a fabricated, High-Clearance Bump Stop Drop to keep the springs clear from the contacting the factory bump stop. The front sway bar geometry will also receive an upgrade with your choice of Sway Bar Drop Brackets (more economical option that maintains the factory sway bar end links) or a set of Extended Sway Bar End Links, a FAR more robust option. The replacement End Links are the only option that is compatible with a snow plow bracket.

The Commuter is the beginning of Carli's no-compromise, custom tuned suspensions. The 3.5" lift variation was tuned with the Progressive Add-a-Pack. This system will not achieve a proper rear high stance without the installation of the add-a-pack; it will sit slightly rear low with no rear option added! The F250 Add-a-Pack equipped systems are a nice improvement over stock; the F350 with the Add-a-Pack is still very stiff in the rear as the main pack doesn’t move much unless loaded. For this reason, we do not recommend the Add-a-pack on an F350 or Tremor (as they all have F350 springs); you’re best to leave the factory springs unmodified with the Commuter. One can install the 3″ factory rear block for a leveled stance but rear ride quality will not be optimized (Factory Block PN: HC3Z-5598-A and HC3Z-5598-B). The Add-a-Pack installs in place of the lower, factory overload spring effectively making the factory leaf spring pack progressive in nature. In the 2020 platform, the factory 2" block is eliminated with the installation of the Add-a-Pack; thus, axle wrap and wheel hop are non-existent. A rear bump stop drop is included to bridge the distance lost by removing the factory block.

Payload capacity is maintained and the rear end becomes a touch softer while being far more planted and predictable. The custom tuning in the rear Carli SPEC 2.0" is optimized to control the combination of the Progressive Add-a-Pack combined with the factory main pack; it's for this reason that Carli advises against upgrading to the Full Progressive Spring Pack (too much rebound valving for a lighter rate spring).

Wheel and Tire: Carli recommends 17"-18" wheels, no more than 9" wide with 5.5" of backspacing with Carli Fabricated Radius Arms or 5" Backspace with factory arms; 5" will require a bit more trimming. Tires, 37x12.5" will fit with some trimming; 35" will likely fit without trimming. The more rubber, the better the small bump compliance will be at proper inflation pressures. The ride will firm up as you go larger in wheel diameter.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • WHEELS: Carli Recommends a 17"-18" Wheel, no more than 9" wide with 5" - 5.5" of Backspacing on Leveling Systems
  • TIRES: 35", E-Rated Tire Fitment is Recommended. Recommended unloaded Tire Pressure 45F/40R.
  • RECOMMENDED CONFIGURATION: Carli Commuter Systems are Designed and Tested on Vehicles with 17"-18" Wheels with 35", E-Rated Tires. Stock wheels and tires or running a larger wheel diameter will result in a stiffer ride.
  • ADD-A-PACKS: Add-A-Pack option requires NO BLOCKS to achieve level stance. Carli makes the Add-A-Packs optional for those that have either purchased them previously or would prefer to upgrade to the Full Replacement Spring Pack.
NO LEAF SPRING OPTION NOTES:
  • Diesel Power Products and Carli strongly suggest the use of either options available. These options are designed to work flawlessly with the rest of your kit and, are the best way to go. However, we understand you may already have the necessary provisions and/or products to use with this kit so we give you the option to not include any leaf spring provisions.
NO SWAY BAR OPTION NOTES:
  • Diesel Power Products and Carli strongly suggest the use of either options available. These options are designed to work flawlessly with the rest of your kit and, are the best way to go. However, we understand you may already have the necessary provisions and/or products to use with this kit so we give you the option to not include any sway bar drop or Torsion Sway Bar provisions.
