The FPR allows you to fine-tune your fuel pressure to the exacting requirements of many of today's diesel trucks. With many drivers running highly modified injection pumps (or two) and high output injectors, a standard pre-set lift pump does not do the job. This regulator from FASS allows the driver to set the pressure out of their lift pump to what their requirements are from 0-100 PSI.

They key ingredients to horsepower and torque in any diesel engine are fuel and air. And just like baking a loaf of bread, you’d better have just the right amount of each ingredient for a successful outcome, otherwise your truck won’t run properly, or your bread will never rise. Okay, enough with the analogies. With the release of the 2020 Powerstroke came an increase in factory rated horsepower (475) as well as torque (1,075).
In the aftermarket, when we want to increase the power of our trucks, one such method is to increase the rail pressure via a programmer or in-line chip, which delivers improved atomization as well as increased fueling. Guess what, that’s exactly what Ford did by increasing the fuel system’s capabilities from 30,000 psi all the way to 36k! And just exactly what goes into a fuel system to allow for this? For starters, its outlined in the programming of the ECM to simply command the varying pressures dependent on load, RPM, speed, and numerous other factors. Secondly, the hard parts of the system must be upgraded, oh yeah, just how we do it in the aftermarket. While Ford has retained Bosch for supplying its fuel system, the CP4.2 style of injection pump has been retained, but features a longer stroke, allowing for increased displacement (ever heard of an aftermarket Stroker pump? Same idea!).
For the eight little fuel squirters, Ford stuck with the proven Bosch piezo design they’ve been using since the release of the 6.7 powerplant in 2011, but again with several upgrades to handle the increased pressure. Overall, this type of fueling is light years ahead of older, previous designs, but still has drawbacks in long term durability and in horsepower building potential. We offer numerous upgrades that can both assist in extending the longevity of your fuel system, as well as assisting in reaching your horsepower goals.
