Browse S&B Cold Air Intakes Online by Make, Model, and Year.
S&B Filters specializes in the manufacturing of high quality cold air intakes, air filters, intake manifolds, as well as other performance parts for light duty diesels to include Dodge Rams with a Cummins diesel engine, Powerstroke equipped Ford, and Chevrolet and GMC's with the hard working Duramax engine, as well as gas trucks and SUV’s. With their combination of quality, performance, and affordability, they are one of our top picks when someone wants a recommendation for an air intake system.
Due in large part to the extensive amount of research and development S&B performs on every single part they produce, they are able to maximize airflow to deliver the biggest gains and have the simplest installation that nearly anyone can perform with basic hand tools. To reaffirm their commitment to build a quality product, S&B backs their air filters and intake kits with a one million mile warranty, as well as tests to meet or exceed ISO 5011 standards. S&B keeps their quality high and their pricing low by making almost everything themselves.
We get a lot of calls and e-mails each day with various product, vehicle, and installation questions. Some are completely off the wall and can even catch us off guard at times, but many others are fairly routine, so we thought we'd post some of the most popular questions that can hopefully be a good resource for you.
Q: What is the difference between the Dry versus Oiled filter option?A: For every intake system offered by S&B, they have both a dry and an oiled filter option. With either option, you get the exact same intake system and the filters are completely interchangeable, so if you ever change your mind on dry versus oiled, all you need to do is replace the filter, not the entire intake system. But what really is the difference? Both offer nearly identical performance characteristics, the choice comes down to whether you'd prefer to merely toss a dirty filter in the garbage and replace with a new one which is what you'll get with the dry option, or if you'd rather have a filter you can clean and reinstall, which is the oiled option. We find that many customers will purchase an oiled filter then later realize they'd rather toss a dirty filter and just replace, or the other way around. With S&B, you have options!
Q: Will installing an S&B Cold Air Intake void my warranty?A: We get this question a lot, especially because upgrading a truck with a cold air intake is many times the first upgrade a new truck owner will do. First and foremost, its illegal for a dealership to just void your warranty based solely on the fact you've added a cold air intake, or really any product to your vehicle. For more information on this, research the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Directly from S&B's Million Mile Warranty statement: "S&B commits that our customers will not be charged for a repair due to the manufacturer denying their warranty claim because of the presence of an S&B intake kit or OE replacement filter. We warrant that using an S&B intake kit or OE filter will not result in the denial of your vehicle’s warranty."
Q: How much horsepower will I gain from adding an S&B Cold Air Intake?
A: That really depends. If someone were to add a cold air intake to a bone stock truck versus one with a programmer, a larger set of injectors, or any other upgrade, that number will change. If you live at sea level versus 6000 feet, you'll also get a different number. Will a cold air intake gain you 100 horsepower? No, not unless you have 25 pre-filters over your current air filter that you stole off of a Nissan Altima. Will it give you more power, better response, cooler temperatures, and a cool new sound? You bet it will.
Q: Is it difficult to install an S&B Cold Air Intake?
A: No, its actually quite simple. Obviously, each vehicle application's installation will vary to some degree due to differences in the engine, but for the most part, the majority of S&B Cold Air Intakes can be installed under an hour. Probably the only caveat to that would be the later generation 6.7L Powerstrokes in which S&B relocates the passenger side battery behind the airbox so that the system can get access to the coldest, densest airflow possible, which is right behind the grill and headlight area. But even with that, all systems can be installed with basic hand tools and will include all of the necessary pieces and hardware necessary to complete the installation.
