While the GTP38 factory turbos on the SuperDuty 7.3L's are good turbos, as age sets into these trucks, or the turbos are pushed past their limits due to adding additional horsepower, they tend to fail, and sometimes very unexpectedly. But more times than not, they are prone to poor performance stemming from worn bearings, chewed up compressor wheels, and so forth.
As an upgrade, we offer this turbo kit with several variations of pedestals. First, you can opt to replace your worn pedestal with a replacement with full EBV functions (warm up valve). However, many choose to upgrade their pedestal to a non-EBV assembly because the factory EBV is known for sticking. We give you the option to only upgrade the pedestal, however, this will require you to modify the factory outflow valve, located behind the turbo. Otherwise, if you want a COMPLETE kit, we also offer this with a non-EBV pedestal, as well as the non-EBV outflow valve. Simply choose from the drop down menu.
