    We at Diesel Power Products offer a deferred core program in which we allow you to defer the typical upfront core charge when purchasing via credit card payment. All cores, whether the core charge was deferred or not, must be returned within 21 days from delivery date of product requiring core charge. Failure to do so can result in forfeiture of the entire core charge return. In the event you originally deferred the core charge, by clicking to agree, you authorize Diesel Power Products to charge you for the core charge.

    All cores must be returned to the original warehouse that original shipment was sent from. If a return label is provided in the original shipment, use this tag. If one is not included, contact us immediately, and we can provide you with the correct address of where the core(s) must be returned to, as well as an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number so that you can facilitate the return shipment. When a return label is not included, it is your responsibility to pay for the return shipment; you have the option to pay it directly to your courier of choice or contact us and we can provide a discounted shipping label for an additional charge. DO NOT rely on the return address on the original label as a source for where to ship to.

    If cores are shipped to the incorrect warehouse, your core money will be returned less the shipping cost for us to send the core(s) to the correct warehouse, or if you deferred the core you may be charged for the shipping amount.

    Cores that have been disassembled and/or have missing and/or damaged major components will not receive full core credit. Returned cores must be on a "like-for-like" basis, meaning that the returned core has the exact same fitment as the remanufactured component that was purchased. In the event that the core is not "like-for-like," your core may not be eligible for return / credit.

    Diesel Power Products has the right to alter this policy (i.e. extend the terms) for any reason. If you have an outstanding circumstance, contact us.

    What is a "Core Charge"?

    In order to understand what a core charge is, you must first understand what a core is. In the automotive industry, most products are manufactured from brand new materials. However, numerous products are also remanufactured, meaning that the manufacturer of the product takes a used product, typically removed from a vehicle, disassembles, and replaces all worn components of the master product. A great example of this is in regards to automatic transmissions in which the manufacturer takes an existing transmission, replaces all of the inner working components, such as the torque converter, valve body, etc. and merely reuses the case.

    Because aftermarket manufacturers require a steady stream of incoming cores to build, they charge a deposit on the core, known as a core charge, that is refunded upon receipt. In some cases, the core is not reusable, such as in the event of a cracked case, at which point the core deposit would not be credited as the core component is not reusable.

    If you plan on returning your core you have two options.

    OPTION 1:
    You can accept it, which means you will be charged for the part AND the core at time of purchase. You still have the option to send it back, and if you do, the core will be refunded back on the card used, presuming the core meets core criteria and the core is returned within 21 business days from originally receiving your order. If you have outstanding circumstances that would not allow the return to occur within 21 days, please contact us.

    OPTION 2 You can defer the core charge. If you defer it, you will not be charged a core at time of purchase. You will have 21 business days from the day you receive it to send it back. As long as the core is received within the 21 business days, you will not be charged. If 21 business days goes by and you do not send it back, the card on file will be charged the core amount. You still may send it back, and once received, we will issue the core amount as in store credit, pending any limitations as set forth by the manufacturer.Core deferral is limited to payment by credit card only.

    What is "Core Return Shipping Cost"?

    This product is remanufactured and requires that your original part being removed (core) to be returned. The return shipping charge of your core is not included in the purchase price of the item, but we offer you a flat rate charge that includes a core return shipping label as a convenience. If you would like a core return label included with your purchase, please select this option.

    Please note that the flat fee is only intended for the contiguous 48 United States. If you are wanting to ship (return) this product from outside of this boundary, please contact us for a shipping quote or expect that we will contact you before processing your order for a shipping quote at which point we will charge the difference if you accept.

THE SMART TECH DRUM (CATEGORY 1 ONLY)

The new billet clutch housing holds a physically taller clutch pack, allowing the overdrive apply clutch area to increase 16%. In addition to the increased apply surface area, the thicker clutches and steels increase clutch steel mass by 28%, drastically improving the heat dissipation. The new 68RFE overdrive clutch drum also comes with a top bolt-on plate to help eliminate clutch pack flexing and distortion that contribute to premature failure.

THE V2 BILLET DRUM ASSEMBLY (CATEGORY 2 ONLY)

The V2 68RFE Billet drum is the most revolutionary thing that has happened to the 68RFE. There has been no other project that SunCoast has invested as much research and development in. SunCoast had over 1,000 horsepower on this drum. This is the end-all, be-all of the 68RFE drums, correcting the issues plaguing the overdrive circuit without the annoying squawk that is so common in the 68RFE.

This new 68RFE overdrive billet drum boasts a whopping 24% clamping force over the factory drum, improving apply time and reducing slip engagement dramatically. This new V2 drum also incorporates a newly designed Quad Ring that allows ideal stretch and compression during higher RPM operation to ensure a consistent clutch volume index throughout the life of the transmission. Wall thickness has also been increased in this new drum to improve drum rigidity and reduce lateral movement in the overdrive apply plate. This drum comes completely assembled as a drop-in replacement with all new internals. There is no need for a core, and nothing is used from the previous factory set up. Whether its heavy towing or street use, this SunCoast V2 Drum is the right drum for you.

THE 2C PISTON

In this 68RFE transmission rebuild kit, SunCoast replaced the factory piston with a much-improved billet piece that also allows for one additional clutch, further increasing surface apply area. 

ZERO CAVITATION FILTER KIT

This new bottom feeder filter kit allows the usage of a torqueflite filter to not only prevent pump cavitation but allow higher volume of fluid to be passed through the system. This will also improve fluid flow in high line pressure situations. The system requires either a deep aluminum Mag-Hytec that we modify or a specific OE pan. This kit comes with a specific OE pan.

THE HIGH-PRESSURE TUNELESS REPROGRAMMIING KIT

This kit provides increased transmission durability for engines with increased horsepower and torque output when aftermarket engine tuners and other modifications are installed. TransGo Tuneless technology provides a re-calibrated pressure curve that mirrors the throttle position and torque demand. Consequently, this elevated pressure curve delivers increased clutch and TCC holding capacity along with shorter cleaner shifts at all throttle openings. The patent-pending internally balanced calibrations provides a progressive clutch apply pressure that increases line pressure across the entire throttle span. As a result, max line pressure is now 210 psi which is a 30% increase over the OEM 160 psi max line! The Kit also addresses the converter clutch apply circuit with a built-in bypass to prevent converter ballooning that comes with elevated line pressure.

THE PISTON REPLACEMENT

Sonnax Accumulator Piston Kit (44894-01K) features two guide seal rings, one at each end of the piston to prevent piston-to-bore scuffing when side loaded. Additionally, the oil sealing ring location is relocated on the piston, allowing it to run in an un-worn portion of the bore and enabling bores with moderate scuffing to be salvaged. Manufactured from 6061 billet aluminum, these pistons will upgrade late-model applications with plastic pistons to prevent transmission failure due to piston breakage.

THE DEEP PAN (CATEGORY 2 ONLY)

What is the easiest upgrade to ensure long service life out of your 68RFE transmission? A simple pan upgrade does wonders. In this kit you will receive a Mag-Hytec deep aluminum pan. This new 68RFE deep aluminum pan will add an additional 4 quarts of transmission fluid. The additional fluid will increase surface area for the fluid, ensuring cool temperatures when towing or hauling. This new deep 68RFE pan also is equipped with a flush mount drain port, allowing quick and easy fluid replacement. This pan is also ribbed, allowing for additional heat dissipation and structural integrity to keep flex at a minimum. This pan is also modified specifically to fit the Suncoast Zero Cavitation filter kit.

THE TORQUE CONVERTER

This SunCoast Torque Converter fits 68RFE transmissions and is engineered to handle all of your every-day duties. Whether you're towing a camper or hauling dirt to a job site, this torque converter is designed to improved vehicle response and give you years of solid, reliable performance. It comes with furnace-brazed fins and hardened turbine splines. The clutches in this converter are carbon-graphitic for precise and accurate lock-up.

The front cover is CNC'd from 4140 HTSR steel to exact tolerances. The factory apply piston on these units is known to be a weak link on the 68RFE torque converters. On the SunCoast Category 1 68RFE Torque Converter, the apply piston is also upgraded to billet material, ensuring zero deflection when applied and precise-lock up consistently for the life of the vehicle
