2024 Ford Super Duty Right Front Dummy Hub (Passenger Side) – Non-Tremor Package Modification
If you own a 2024 Ford Super Duty and don’t have the Tremor package, you may notice that your truck comes equipped with a dummy hub on the passenger side. Unlike the Tremor models, which come with auto and locking hubs on both sides (due to their limited-slip differential), non-Tremor models come from the factory with a setup where only the driver’s side hub has a locking option.

Issue:
The factory setup on non-Tremor models does not allow for full freewheeling of the front axle on the passenger side, potentially causing wear and tear on seals and other components. If you have lifted your truck you may be experiencing a vibration from the front passengers side while going highway speeds due to the extra rotating mass of the axle assembly.

Solution:
This modification is a simple way to convert your passenger-side dummy hub into a freewheeling hub.

Converts the passenger-side hub into a freewheeling hub, reducing unnecessary wear on the axle and seals. Helps prevent potential seal failure and vibrations while driving on the highway. Retains the automatic and manual locking feature on the driver’s side and adds the same features to the passenger side. This modification is ideal for those who prefer the reliability of freewheeling axles, as found in older Ford models, and want to ensure their 2024 Super Duty performs efficiently on the highway.

Parts Needed:
Right Front Dummy Hub Replacement
Replaces the factory-installed dummy hub on the passenger side to enable freewheeling functionality.
May be necessary if your truck was built on or after  02/2023. This part supplies the proper vacuum tube for the passenger side hub to engage and disengage.

Installation:

1. This is a relatively straightforward installation. If you're fluent in basic hand tools, it can be done in your garage.
2. Raise and support the front of your truck with a jack and jackstands.
3. Remove the Passenger (Right) side hub/lug cap, wheel, and dummy hub, taking note of the bolt hole locations.
4. Install the new hub assembly, lining up the aforementioned bolt holes. Be sure that the assembly is fully installed and seated correctly.
5. Move to the back side of the wheel hub. Remove the (2) vacuum caps (1) on the back side of the hub assembly and (1) on the vacuum tube located right in between the upper ball joint and sway bar link. Install the included vacuum line connecting the tube to the hub. *For 02/23 and new trucks you will have to install the vacuum tube assembly. A trim removal tool is a good idea here, the assembly will replace both Driver (Left) and Passenger (Right) side vacuum supply tubes. This snaps into place in multiple places into the factory provisions.*
6. Test the hub by rotating it should now freewheel and the axle should remain stationary.
   
7. Reinstall wheel and tire. put your hub into auto and take it for at test drive to check for function.
