The Commuter 2.0 Suspension System from Carli is about lifting your truck the RIGHT way for the truck that sees mostly on-road duties and delivers a superior ride quality compared to anything on the market.
The Super Duty Commuter 2.0 system is designed for people seeking the best on-road ride quality that don't plan to off-road their vehicle. Utilizing Carli SPEC 2.0″ Diameter, Internal Reservoir shocks, Carli developed a tune that delivers all-around comfort and ride quality designed for on-road, in town, highway, and towing/hauling.
CARLI SPEC 2.0" IFP SHOCKS
The mono-tube, internal reservoir, Carli SPEC 2.0 boasts 6063 Aluminum construction, anodized body for corrosion resistance, 5/8″ hardened steel chrome plated shaft, full serviceability & rebuildability and are built with 1-peice bushings in the 6061 billet rod-ends. These shocks are spec’d with a premium 5WT oil to balance lubricity, consistent damping and the widest available range in temperature variation. Carli backs these with a 1-year warranty, serviced by Carli. Unlike most of our suspension systems, the Commuter was tuned with 20”, factory wheels on factory Michelin tires given many in the entry level, 3.5” lift market want the most bang for their buck and will continue to run the factory wheels and tires.
SWAY BAR OPTIONS
The truck will sit 2.5” higher in the front and have more wheel travel thanks to the lighter rate Carli Coil Springs. The Adjustable Track Bar centers the front axle and Stainless Brake Lines firm up braking and ensure there is enough line for the newfound travel. To round off the front end, we include Caster Shims to tighten the steering and a fabricated, High-Clearance Bump Stop Drop to keep the springs clear from the contacting the factory bump stop. The front Sway Bar Geometry will need to be addressed with your choice of a Sway Bar Drop Bracket (more economical, maintains the factory Sway Bar End Links) or our Extended Sway Bar links – a FAR more robust option. The replacement End Links are the only option compatible with a plow bracket.

REAR LEAF SPRING OPTIONS
The Commuter is the beginning of our no-compromise, custom tuned suspensions. The 2.5” lift variation was tuned with the Progressive Add-a-Pack. The Add-a-Pack installs in place of the lower, factory overload spring effectively making the factory leaf spring pack progressive in nature. In the 2017 platform, the factory block is eliminated with the installation of the Add-a-Pack; thus, axle wrap and wheel hop are non-existent. A rear bump stop drop is included to bridge the distance lost by removing the factory block.
Payload capacity is maintained and the rear end becomes a touch softer while being far more planted and predictable. The custom tuning in the rear Carli SPEC 2.0" is optimized to control the combination of the Progressive Add-a-Pack combined with the factory main pack; it's for this reason that Carli advises against upgrading to the Full Progressive Spring Pack (too much rebound valving for a lighter rate spring).
ADD-A-PACK SPECIFICATIONS:Add-A-Pack option requires NO BLOCKS to achieve level stance. Carli makes the Add-A-Packs optional for those that have either purchased them previously or would prefer to upgrade to the Full Replacement Spring Pack.

Much of the jarring ride of the Super Duty rear can be attributed to the factory vulcanized bushings in the leaf spring pack and shackle. The factory shackle is very strong BUT the design is not conducive to a smooth ride. The Carli shackle is constructed of 1/4″ American cold-rolled steel. The mid-length gusset ensures no deflection while the serviceable bushings offer a far superior ride to the bind of the factory bushings.

WHEEL AND TIRE FITMENT
Carli recommends 17"-18" wheels, no more than 9" wide with 5.5" of backspacing with Carli Fabricated Radius Arms or 5" Backspace with factory arms; 5" will require a bit more trimming. Tires, 37x12.5" will fit with some trimming; 35" will likely fit without trimming. The more rubber, the better the small bump compliance will be at proper inflation pressures. The ride will firm up as you go larger in wheel diameter.
IMPORTANT NOTES:- WHEELS: Carli Recommends a 17"-18" Wheel, no more than 9" wide with 5" - 5.5" of Backspacing on Leveling Systems
- TIRES: 35", E-Rated Tire Fitment is Recommended. Recommended unloaded Tire Pressure 45F/40R.
- RECOMMENDED CONFIGURATION: Carli Commuter Systems are Designed and Tested on Vehicles with 17"-18" Wheels with 35", E-Rated Tires. Stock wheels and tires or running a larger wheel diameter will result in a stiffer ride.
- Diesel Power Products and Carli strongly suggest the use of either options available. These options are designed to work flawlessly with the rest of your kit and, are the best way to go. However, we understand you may already have the necessary provisions and/or products to use with this kit so we give you the option to not include any leaf spring provisions.
