Cooper Rasmussen, the General Manager here at Diesel Power Products, is not quiet about his preference for Cummins power. Over the years, he's owned and built a multitude of Cummins powered Rams, and even some Cummins powered Jeeps, but they all share a common thread, in that he builds them with performance, reliability, and capability at the forefront.
While 600 horsepower and 40" tires may not be that impressive for some, its the precautionary components that are part of builds, such as Sledge, that make them truly stand apart. It may seem trivial, but how many of these types of trucks do you see that actually take the time to install a lower gear ratio, air lockers, or heck, just plain build the transmission to support the extra power and larger tires? Honestly, its surprising how few actually go through the extra effort. That said, we all here at Diesel Power Products understand the true importance and benefits of these kinds of precautionary measures to ensure the ultimate reliability and longevity of our vehicles, thus include them in all of our builds.
As with numerous other builds by Cooper, Sledge was built to truly be a multi-faceted, utilitarian vehicle. Imagine rolling down the highway and being passed by a truck with 40" tires, hauling a gooseneck loaded with offroad toys. Then, you find that exact same truck out on the trail tearing it up with the toys, and conquering every obstacle. Oh yeah, and then hooking back up to the gooseneck at the end of the day. Well, that's Sledge, and it does it with plenty of reliable power on tap.
