DDP DIESEL PRODUCTS
Dynomite Diesel was originally founded in 2000 as a fuel injection supply and repair company based out of Washington State by then and now owner Lenny Reed. Over the years, the goals and priorities of DDP would shift away from the repair side of their business and towards fuel injection modification and manufacturing. Today, many of the most reputable high horsepower diesel race truck owners are fueled by a set of Dynomite Diesel’s Super Mental series injectors, whether it’s a Cummins, Duramax, or Powerstroke.
DYNOMITE DIESEL INJECTORS & MORE
Now, what really separates a Dynomite Diesel fuel injector from their competition? Many would argue that it comes down to time spent and the materials and tools utilized by DDP to get the job done. Each set of fuel injectors are precisely modified using state of the art machinery and matched as a single set to eliminate any unnecessary deviation that can occur in batch production. Further, Dynomite Diesel spends countless hours testing and measuring various samples, using bore scopes to inspect and measure their modified injectors at the micron level and so many other details that the naked eye simply cannot detect. Lenny and his team are continually testing new methods to create efficiency in fuel combustion. While many would presume this only means fuel economy (MPG’s), rather, anytime that more fuel can be turned into power, efficiency is created, as well as net power gained, and exhaust gas temperatures (EGT’s) reduced. And for the final touch, each DDP injector is engraved with their logo to ensure you know you’re getting a quality Dynomite Diesel product.
Whether you’re building a high horsepower sled puller or you’re like most and simply want some added power for pulling your equipment or travel trailer without causing any unwanted side effects such as black smoke or high EGT’s, upgrading with a set of Dynomite Diesel injectors is an upgrade we stand behind.

We get a lot of calls and e-mails each day with various product, vehicle, and installation questions. Some are completely off the wall and can even catch us off guard at times, but many others are fairly routine, so we thought we'd post some of the most popular questions regarding Dynomite Diesel products that can hopefully be a good resource for you.
Q: Will upgraded injectors or nozzles increase my truck's power without decreasing reliability?
A: Dynomite Diesel injectors are built with a maximum of a 2% variance across the matching set, meaning you can rest assured you're getting a product that will add power without sacrificing reliability.
Q: What is the difference between Hone, EDM, and AFM?
A: Electro Discharge Machining (EDM) is a process in which an electrically charged wire burns a hole through metal. Nearly all OEM nozzles are manufactured using an EDM process. From the factory they are manufactured on a very advanced machine that controls the angle and speed of the wire insertion. The angle of insertion must be measured and implemented VERY accurately or the spay angle will be changed, resulting in possible engine damage.
When the OEM manufacturer changes the speed of insertion, they can achieve a cone-shaped hole that will improve atomization. EDM’s that are used in the aftermarket are usually decommissioned medical instruments that do not have the ability to control either angle or speed precisely enough to create a quality product. When a nozzle is manufactured by the OEM supplier not only do they EDM but they follow that up with a process called Abrasive Flow Machining which cleans up any imperfections, removes burn residue, and balances out the nozzle flow.
When many injector manufactures use an aftermarket EDM machine, they do not use AFM to balance out the flow of the nozzle or clean up any imperfections. DDP Injectors use Hone technology. They start with an OEM nozzle or nozzle that's been specifically machined for them with the desired spray angle. Then DDP goes through and finish hones them to remove imperfections, polish the inside of the nozzle, and radius the inside of the holes where the fuel flows through. This leads to better atomization, which provides less smoke, less heat, more power, and improved fuel economy compared to our competition's same sized nozzle. Adding volume without helping atomization only adds heat and smoke, which means less useable power.
Q: Why hone each nozzle separately?
A: DDP Hones each nozzle separately and balances their flow to better than factory specs to create a smooth idle, and smoother running truck throughout the RPM range. Stock injector nozzles from the OEM manufacturers are usually within 2 to 3 liters per minute on a flow test machine. When any set of nozzles leaves DDP, there will be no greater than a 1 liter per minute variance from the highest flowing to the lowest.
