With the release of the LML Duramax in 2011 model year applications came an entirely new exhaust system for GM. This factory system starts out at 3.5" diameter out of the turbo and features a catalytic converter, followed by a DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst), a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), and a DEF (Diesel Emissions Fluid) system. Once the exhaust exits the last emissions device, the diameter is enlarged to a 4" diameter. The previous LMM engines featured a similar exhaust system, but without the addition of the DEF, which is designed to further aid in the emissions cleaning process. If you're looking to improve upon the power and efficiency of your Duramax, we can help you upgrade your exhaust with a higher flowing 4" or 5" system built from aluminized or stainless steel in single or dual outlet, or even stacks!
