The SmartLock from Banks Power is a computer module required for the Banks Brake. This tiny but mighty module controls essential parts of your rig to keep your transmission in great working order while using the Banks Brake. While using your Banks exhaust Brake the SmartLock is automatically activated to lock your torque converter while simultaneously raising your transmission line pressure to smoothly reduce your speed. In addition to helping your Banks exhaust brake save wear and tear on your service brakes, the SmartLock prolongs the life of your transmission by increasing its holding capacity, eliminating excessive clutch slippage, and cooling transmission fluid temperatures.
