Premo Plus System Filters and Cleans Oil - Extending Your Oil Change Intervals !!!

Tampa, Florida, September 18, 2000--- Premo Lubrication Technologies, a leader in engine and hydraulic oil filtering systems, announced today that several Class 8 trucks surpassed one million miles of heavy duty , day-to-day driving with out a complete oil change using the Premo-Plus System.

A regional freight carrier in the Pacific Northwest became the first Premo Lube customer to log more than a million miles on several of it's Premo Plus equipped trucks. This customer has been using Premo Plus systems fore nearly seven years and has the majority of it's 250 Class 8 trucks converted to the technology. To ensure engine reliability, the company consistently tests oil every 15,000 miles through independent testing labs, confirming the quality and exceptional condition of the oil.

Drastically Improved Service Life
The PremoPlus oil by-pass filters oil to a 3um absolute level, that is, the filter traps 98.7% of all particles 3 microns and larger on each pass of the oil through the filter. Traditional oil filters are "nominally" rated between 30 and 40 microns. A "nominal" rating is essentially meaningless as it does not define the number of particles removed by the filter on each pass. After filtering the oil, the PremoPlus system then heats the oil to 195 degrees F in a separate chamber to vaporize and vent off any liquid contaminants that may enter the engine lube system.

The improved filtering and re-fining process can extend truck service life for years, saving customers thousands in new fleet acquisition costs. The oil change process has also been drastically simplified. Simply spin-off the Premo 3um filter, spin-on a new one, and top off the oil with 2-3 quarts of new oil.... Not the 48 quarts normally needed to do a oil change of a class 8 truck. The recommended filter change is 20,000 to 30,000 miles on the Premo filter (and 75,000 miles on the engine full-flow filter) saves down time also. The PREMO-PLUS unit can be easily installed outside any engine as a by-pass system, not affecting the full flow system. Oil enters the inlet port at the side under normal operating pressure. It is then channeled down through the spin-on filter where solid contaminants such as carbon, soot, dirt (silicon), wear metal particulate and any foreign solids are trapped. This filter contains a breakthrough in filter media technology. It is a synthetic media with a ISO 4572 BETA RATING of B3 = 75 (This Beta rating means that the filter traps 98.7% of all particles 3 microns or larger on each pass). Free of dirt and wear metal particles, the oil flows through a metering jet that allows 4 to 5 gallons per hour to travel into the patented evaporation chamber where it flows over an electrically heated surface in a thin film. The dirt free oil is heated to 195 degrees where the fuel dilution, water and liquid contaminants are evaporated and discharged through the upper vent tube. Completely clean oil returns to the engine by gravity. The continuous repetition of this cycle keeps your oil clean, increases the life of the engine and reduces your maintenance costs. Periodic laboratory oil analysis will virtually eliminate oil changes and disposal costs.
